Our Origin Story

Born from frustration, fueled by curiosity.

It all started with some really frustrating words…

Picture this: a professional with a strong scientific background, diving into a historical fiction novel, and stumbling over words on every other page. That was me. And with a brain injury in my past, every cognitive challenge feels personal. Reading became a chore. My e-reader could define the words, but their meanings kept slipping away, like trying to catch smoke. Instead of enjoying the story, I kept getting yanked out of it.

So, I almost gave up on reading… until I stumbled upon the Reticular Activating System (RAS)—our brain’s spotlight that helps us focus. Ever notice a brand’s logo popping up everywhere after you first hear about it? That’s your RAS at work! I wondered: What if I applied this to reading?

Spoiler alert: It worked. By priming your brain with definitions before reading, you can actually grasp and remember them better. The reading experience becomes fluid, and poof—all those distractions vanish.

And that’s how WordFlow was born. Turns out, I wasn’t alone in this struggle.

Our Mission

Bring back the joy of reading, one word at a time

The slow fade of our collective vocabulary isn’t just my problem—it’s a silent epidemic. We’re leaning more on images and videos, while words quietly slip away. This doesn’t just hurt our reading—it weakens our ability to think, remember, and express ourselves.

But hope is here. Let’s bring back the power of words, color our memories with vibrant language, and ensure future generations grow up in a world rich with storytelling.

Join the WordFlow. Rediscover the joy of reading.
